Who am I and what do I do.

Hi, I'm Ricky the Social Marketer.

I have always looked at life with my own microscope. I grew up playing baseball, and oh was I good. All day every day I practiced, learned about the professional teams and players. I played all throughout little league and when I reached high school, I shot up the ladder fast until I reached varsity. After high school I played a little colligate ball, I soon ran into many health problems resulting in me hanging my cleats up.

There I was like most kids in their 20's, stuck between my child hood and the realization that I needed to grow up. I had always thought I would be a professional ball player so I never put to much thought in what else I would like to do. In between, oh I don't know, 14 jobs that lasted from 1 day to 1 year, I found an industry that was fascinating and frighting all at the same time. An industry that offered financial freedom to those who dared. Unfortunately, I, like most was skeptical to say the least. It was Network Marketing. To be honest, I just thought it was a scam because I heard that once somewhere. I think someone said "Oh one of those things, that's a pyramid scheme. If they ever ask you for money it's a big ol' scam. Don't fall for it, go get a REAL job". Looking back now I always get a laugh at that. Thank goodness I have always been one to have an open mind. Although I was nervous, I still did what most fail to do, hear it out. I listened to a buddy of mine and to my surprise I actually really liked the concept. My first company I ever joined was a health and wellness network marketing company. It was a brand new start up company. Man was I ready to succeed. I couldn't wait to be making the millions and millions of dollars of residual income I had built in my head. Oh how easy it was going to be, I mean how hard can it be right? See, I was like most people who first hear about an opportunity like network marketing, I thought it was a get rich quick scheme. Oh was I wrong.

After failing at getting anyone in the first company, and then eventually quitting the company because of poor leadership and management, I found myself in a new company. This was in the same category as the first, health and wellness. See, I thought everyone wanted to be healthy, and even though I wasn't a business expert I knew that I should be in a company that attracted a lot of people. And to be honest, I was kind of on to something, I just didn't know it at the time, but thats for a later story. This time I was a little more successful. I had picked up on a few things and for the first time I started to slowly understand the business structure of network marketing. First I learned that it wasn't a get rich quick scheme, because you really had to put work into it. I think that is a big reason network marketing has such a bad rep, because people get into it thinking they are gonna get rich over night and when they find out it isn't so easy, they quit and tell everyone those "Things" don't and will never work.

I eventually moved closer to the beach, from my home town to Irvine, Ca. I moved in with some old high school friends. To my surprise, they were involved in their own network marketing venture. And to be honest, they were finding a lot more success than I was, and since I still didn't have the right type of leadership, and I wasn't doing too well in my company, I decided to quit once again and join forces with my new brothers. Looking back at it, that was one of the best decisions I have made in my young entrepreneur career.

Okay, quick recap, it has now been about two years since I joined my first network marketing company, and with brutal honesty, I was proving all the skeptics true, these things just don't work. But I had one thing going for me, I was determined. I understood clearly that if I could begin earning RESIDUAL INCOME, my life would never be the same, I could live the good life and help and spread love to more people. Also, I looked on the positive side and realized I had practically been earning a degree in marketing with all the hands on experience I was getting. Honestly, it wasn't just the marketing I was learning that impressed me or my friends, it was the confidence and people person skills that really stood out. So now I am in my third company and I start to find success and I start building a very successful team, but unfortunately the company and product I was marketing just wasn't the right vehicle for me and I soon went back to ground zero. I am a truthful guy, so I will tell you I lost thousands of dollars while only making $100 bucks in a year and half.

At this point I was done! I moved out of the apartment for other personal reasons and came back home. Wow, square one. I was a failure. Even worse, I felt like I had made a fool out of myself. What had I been doing for the past few years? Making a fool out of myself? This thought process went on for a while, but I always still loved the concept of residual income and how magical a life you could live with it. Although I had quit three companies, I wasn't one to just give up, so I always kept an open mind.

October 3rd 2013-
I am in the airport with a new friend and we are headed to Hawaii. We arrived 30 minutes early and we sitting by our terminal waiting for the plane. We both started talking about business and realized that we had both been in the same company, which was the last one I was in. I started telling him how I knew I wanted to earn residual income but just hadn't found any success and felt like a failure. He told me he felt the same way but that he had a new opportunity that I might like. Me being always ready and willing, told him to explain. What he and I didn't know is that this conversation would lead us to becoming business partners. Not only that, but in just a small period of time I started to earn my first profits in a company, and 7 months later I have earned over $5,000 dollars, and still growing! I have opened my first office! We have over 20 team members. This is just the beginning.

So, what is this company that helped an amateur network marketer go from zero to hero? Was it just the company that helped me succeed? Or was it just a matter of staying persistent and never giving up and finding the right vehicle, which helped me utilize all the skills I had learned over the past few years?

Find out on my next blog. Until then don't stop until you CONQUERURLIFE!
